3rd August - Philip Graves wins Ironman UK, plus more...

Philip Graves added to what has been a sensational debut year for Team ActivInstinct yesterday, by winning Ironman UK in his first attempt at the distance - and in the process, became the youngest Ironman winner ever! Phil exited the swim alongside British Ironman record holder, and defending Ironman UK champion Stephen Bayliss. Once onto the bike - his strongest discipline - he built a lead of seven minutes by T2. Bayliss chased hard on the run, and as Phil admitted, his legs were "in pieces" at 30km, but he held it together, and still recorded the fifth fastest run split of the day to receive a fantastic welcome outside of Bolton Town Hall. A stunning performance, congratulations Phil.

Alongside Phil, fellow team member Alex Brooks finished 2nd in Age Group 30-34, his second Ironman podium of the season. Like Phil, he'll be competing at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in October.

Dann Brook took an exellent fifth place, and secured his place at the Ironman 70.3 World Champs in Clearwater, Florida courtesy of fifth place at the highly competitive Antwerp 70.3 event in Belgium.

A little closer to home, Dion Harrison, Steve Worthington and Lois Rosindale were racing at the Mazda London Triathlon, where Lois finished second in the Elite Junior race, behind Beijing Olympic athlete Hollie Avil.

Top racing everyone.
